Location
Enes Cottage enjoys an unbeatable location being more or less equidistant from the beach and White Cliffs. Whether on foot or by car it is a wonderful base from which to explore the local area and beyond.
From the front door, walks cross the cliffs to the National Trust café overlooking Dover docks or alternatively towards Kingsdown and Deal provide stunning views across the English Channel to France. South Foreland Lighthouse is a lovely spot to fly a kite, have a cream tea, take a tour to the top or play games in the grounds. You might spot a Spitfire flying overhead if you’re lucky! The Coastguard pub on the beach at St Margaraet’s Bay is the UK’s closest pub to France and a great spot for drinks or supper as the sun goes down.
The village of St Margaret’s At Cliffe with the village shop, post office, church and pub is a 15 minute walk from the house whilst large supermarkets (Tesco and Lidl) can be found just off the Whitfield Roundabout which is a 15 minute drive.
